It was announced earlier in the week that industry veteran Donald Mustard, who is the chief creative officer at Epic Games, will be retiring from his role and leaving the company. Now, it’s been confirmed who his replacement will be.

Over on LinkedIn, Charlie Wen has revealed that he has been appointed as the new chief creative officer at Epic Games. “It’s an incredible honor to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry and contribute my experience to an organization dedicated to driving innovation in entertainment and technology,” Wen wrote in a post.

Wen has had a number of notable positions at a number of companies across media. From 2001 to 2006, he worked at Sony Santa Monica, where he helped define the visual style and identity of the God of War franchise and its protagonist, Kratos.

He was also the co-founder and head of Marvel Studios’ Visual Development studio, where, between 2008 and 2014, he worked on a number of Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, including the likes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, The Avengers, and Ant-Man, among others.

Between 2014 and 2015, he also had a stint at League of Legends developer Riot Games, with whom he has also continued to serve as a creative consultant.
