According to the latest NPD Group report, Microsoft was able to sell approximately 1.4 million Xbox 360s in the US during December.

The Xbox 360 has remained the number one choice in North America for the 24 straight months. In all, Americans have spent roughly $1.27 billion on Xbox games, hardware, and accessories.

Microsoft has said that the 1.4 million units sold in December was more that double the units sold for the second place competitor. "We expect 2013 will be another big year for Xbox 360 and we're eager to continue to expand and grow the offerings available on the platform," said Microsoft.
