Wii U game sales "far behind launch levels for Gamecube and Wii"

According to Cowen & Company analyst Dough Creutz, Wii U software sales are "struggling a bit" in the US.

After the NPD sales data for the US market was released in December, Cowen stated in a research note, "Software sales for the Wii U remained well behind launch levels for the original Wii and GameCube in December."

"Totals for the November-December period were -43% lower than software sales for the Wii and -50% lower than those for the GameCube."

North American Wii U sales during the first full moth did not match those set by the Wii in December 2006, despite the Wii U generating more revenue in the same time frame.

Taking the low software sales into account, it seems that the Wii U's higher sticker price ($300 for Basic/$350 for Premium, compared to the Wii's $250) is the main reason that the Wii U's launch revenue is exceeding that of the Wii.

In the UK, no exclusive Wii U game has made it into the top 40 all format chart for the past three weeks.

Hasn't the wii outsold the xbox and the ps3?

Why are we even comparing these? How about we wait for the next xbox and ps4 to be released and then we will get the important numbers..

So why is that exactly? care to explain? They are always behind and yet everything they do 1st gets copied by everyone else?


If you're talking about kinect and playstation move, they made it way better than Nintendo, even if they were not the first ones to do it.


I mean pretty much everything in gaming,controllers,games,consoles,accessories.Also saying PS Move is better? or Kinect that doesn't even pick out what your doing or saying most of the time is just a matter of opinion even though both companies had a couple of years to improve on Nintendo's idea because they couldn't come up with anything of their own,so obviously the technology was newer but they just didn't have any quality games to go with it.What would you consider the best Move and Kinect games btw?

Only thing keeping Nintendo alive is Pokemon and Mario. It's sad really. I hope they find something to make a bigger attraction to the market.
