11 bit studios’ The Alters, a sci-fi survival title involving alternate versions of the main character, launches in 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. A new trailer and screenshots are available, providing brief snippets of gameplay. Check it out below.

The story concerns Jan, who finds himself stranded on a mysterious planet. He must cooperate with his alters to survive, each contributing to the upkeep of the strange Ferris wheel-like base. When creating them with Rapidium crystals, you can choose different life paths, which create skill sets geared towards exploration and resource gathering to cooking and crafting.

However, there are also dialogue options and relationships to build with other Jans. Each has unique emotions and questions about their existence, and the life-or-death situation doesn’t help. How these relationships affect the gameplay remains to be seen.
