A new Tekken game means a continuation of the story, the longest-running per Guinness World Records, but Bandai Namco offers even more with Tekken 8. There’s a new mode, Arcade Quest, where you can create and customize an avatar while battling other characters in virtual arcades. Check out some extensive gameplay below courtesy of IGN First.

The mode starts teaching you the mechanics, including the new Heat Actions. Complete matches and earn money to purchase cosmetics to customize your character. Interacting with other characters will advance the story, and there’s even a world map with different locations (though only one is showcased).

If you think it wouldn’t be a fighting game story without a tournament, good news – that’s here. Tekken 8 launches on January 26th 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. According to director Katsuhiro Harada, the release date was pushed back to avoid conflicting with another fighting game.
