GTA 5 'could outsell Call of Duty'

Analysts have predicted that Grand Theft Auto 5 could sell over 18 million copies, which would knock Call of Duty off of the top spot on the charts.

Sources estimate that development costs for the game will total around $137.5 million. That's taking into account a 250-strong development team working over five years. It is also estimated a marketing spend of between $69 million and $109.3 million.

The game could sell anywhere between 16 million and 25 million, generating profit from $193.6 million to $390.8 million.

It is said that GTA 5 could also give Activision's Call of Duty a run for it's money on the top of the charts. Which we all know full and well that Call of Duty normally has annual chart dominance.

Its not 'could' its 'will' ;) GTA V Is the most anticipated game so far, however call of duty comes out every year. People Would rather by a game that people are going to be playing for a lot longer than cod that release every year...If Call of duty magically out sells gta v im going to migrate to another planet...

There's always new children who join the CoD fanboism. We won't know until then but I seriously hope it destroys CoD.

Yea but what do BF3, Halo 4, Halo Reach all have in common? They are First Person Shooters. There is much more stuff possible with Grand Theft Auto unlike cod, halo and bf3 where it is just run, shoot, kill.

how can you even compare them cod is no where on the same level as gta.cod releases the same shit game every year with diff maps and slightly diff guns with shit dlc (previous cod maps usually) gta is a classic and will remain at the top of the gaming industry in case none of you saw but after the gta delay take two stock went down by alot.

GTA could give CoD a run for its money when it's released, there are a lot of people that can't wait to get their hands on GTA 5 and more and more are intrested each time they push back the game.

ME0W I doubt it will, CoD always sells millions of copies in the first week.


You'd be surprised how many copies they sell considering they haven't made a game in years... I'm willing to bet that GTA will out sell CoD.
