GTA 5 'could outsell Call of Duty'
Sources estimate that development costs for the game will total around $137.5 million. That's taking into account a 250-strong development team working over five years. It is also estimated a marketing spend of between $69 million and $109.3 million.
The game could sell anywhere between 16 million and 25 million, generating profit from $193.6 million to $390.8 million.
It is said that GTA 5 could also give Activision's Call of Duty a run for it's money on the top of the charts. Which we all know full and well that Call of Duty normally has annual chart dominance.

wtswasthatDeadlyDasherBethesdaReductionDeadlyDasherReductionDavidDo0MDeadlyDasherMalwarebytes I think it will. I used to love COD and play it everyday but it is getting very overplayed and boring. looking foward to gta 5.
*1 year later when the next big game is coming out*
I use to love GTA5 and play it everyday but it is getting very overplayed and boring. GTA 4 couldn't even stay in the top 20 most played games while 3 call of duty games are currently in their. GTA 4 is only back in the top 20 at 17 because of the hype around GTA 5.
I liked GTA 4 but the multiplayer was only fun for about a week. And since I'm not 10 years old anymore, stealing cars and running over people got bored pretty quick.
Act like a Fan boy all you want, but he is right. I used to LOVE CoD. I beat every CoD on Veteran and have unlocked every achievement on every CoD, including DLC. I have always been good at the game as well. I have put hundreds and hundreds of hours into multiplayer and maintained a kill/death ratio between 2.20 and 2.90 in every CoD. However, the last few titles really haven't been up to par. It just keeps getting worse. Every year, they gear the game more and more towards the 12 year old runners and less towards strategic, skilled players. As much as I hate to say this, I don't think I will purchase another CoD title.
First COD played: MW2, Best COD played: MW2. Admit it, it died from there on, GTA is unique and very fun. I'm going to laugh when this over takes COD.
MW2 is the worst COD made, so your opinion is automatically invalid. GTA will probaly overtake Minecraft on XBL, on PSN idk. Unless they add some groundbreaking multiplayer, it isn't going to overtake COD.
And **** you can't even buy GTA without your parents, how am I suppose to take you seriously?
No... MW2 was the classic COD which was when the majority of people started to play COD. (Not cod4)
MW2 is not the classic CoD , CoD 2 is the classic CoD. It's where quickscoping started and where it gained a huge following , CoD 4 brought huge improvements to QS and MW2 built on those but added alot of things the series could have went without (Nukes , Overpowered Killstreaks. Etc.) But hey that's just my opinion...
This is why I hated MW2, nukes, death streaks, one man army noob tubes, commando, etc. But this is why all the 14 year olds on TTG love MW2, they could go and die 4 times straight and get rewarded for it lmao.
It wasn't difficult if you weren't terrible at the game. Bling, Cold blooded and Ninja were the only perks that I needed to have. If you played Search and used an assault rifle or sniped the real way, most QS'ers would quit. I loved MW2 it was great, many fantastic maps. Yes the ******** death streaks were lame but what are you going to do, it's not like IW thought that they were going to be abused. Yes a patch could have helped fix many of the problem, i honestly don't know why they didn't patch the death streaks. As for the Kill streaks all i can say is Stinger missile or AT4, either got rid of helicopters and planes. For the Nuke.. no complaints, it was fun for many to call in a nuke. As long as it was legit and not boosted for i had no complaints.
Lol my comment seems to get some ppl butthurt. ive been playing cod since cod4 and i have played BO2 ALOT when it first come out. But every year cod kept bringing me back and had a high replay value. other than new zombies maps the multiplayer on this cod is very dull. IT CATERS TO NOOBS! even if you do get high killstreaks they werent as powerful as previous cods. Probably because ppl complained about overpowered killstreaks. i like cod4's simple layout and killstreaks. had a high replay value back in the day. now the makers of cod try to make everyone happy including noobs and now it is very dull and boring. Just my opinion but all i said was that i was looking foward to gta 5. xD

xSaxby Call of Duty is becoming the same old, same old now. I can see this happening! Call of Duty needs to introduce something new to draw people to it!
They try to do that every year, but it doesn't seem to work.

SPEED Considering Rockstar has completely turned their back on the PC community, I doubt it will happen. They cost themselves millions of sales with GTA 4 because the shipped product was a shitty port released 8 months after the console version.
At this point they better be hoping that every single console player will be buying it, otherwise I doubt they'll even come close.
I think they will be more prepared this time. PC should have it at the same time it's released on the consoles.

TheDylanDylanMayday_Parade I finished GTA IV and all DLC's so I cannot wait got this game. TBH kinda tired of CoD.
if they slowed down on releasing COD to say maybe 1 every two years then maybe sales would increase
You make it sound like their sales are decreasing. Cod has 0 competition in terms of sales. Halo 4 was suppose to outsell it, how did that turn out? COD has been releasing a new one every year since 2005. In 2009 when MW2 sold a shitload of units they didn't just say "GUYZ LETS START RELEASING THEM EVERY YEAR SO WE CAN JUST MILK MONEY OUT OF OUR FANS!!!!!"
