Report: Next Xbox to "kill" pre-owned, requires always on net connection

Sources claim to have word that the next-gen Xbox will require an always-on internet connection and will block the use of pre-owned games.

The source says that another source “with first hand experience” of the console adds that games will still be buyable, which are supplied on 50GB Blu-ray discs. It is understood that disc games will use an activation code.

So, no more going to the shops and buying cheap second-hand games? There has to be more people who think this is a bad idea by Microsoft.

This is such an awful idea. Not everyone can afford brand new games, and the always-on internet connection would suck.

So it begins, JTAG xboxes probably won't need a connection to play, and let's not forget; there are a lot of people who don't have a stable internet service, does that mean the game reboots if i have to reconnect? if so NO SALE, MICKEY SOFT :P

Surely this is not legitimate as it is an extremely idiotic idea, but if it is, they best wise up and realise that this is going to cause issues as well as a lot of outrage from the Xbox gaming community.
