PlayStation 4 price could come in above $400

According to a Japanese news source, the next-generation PlayStation 4 going to come in around $400.

A local newspaper made the claim that Sony had set the price internally above 40,000. This figure would roughly be about $430 at the current exchange rate.

Despite the claim from the newspaper, there are no official figures to support this. The price is rumored to be coming in around $399, but given the recent specifications of the PS4, a $400 price point would most likely mean that the console would be sold at a loss.

Sony's next-generation console will utilize the Gaikai cloud technology that Sony had purchased last year.

I agree, Sony and Microsoft need to make revenue. It's not even that bad of a price, but it is a little more than the Wii U I believe :P

For a brand new console that people spend a lot of time and money making, a starting price of $400 isn't too bad, considering that the PS4 was like 600$ on the release date.

Thats about 230 - 260 in the UK, cheaper than usual, its usually like 350 - 450 for the PS3 when that was released.
