Google shows what it's like to use Google Glass

4.7
Google is slowly pulling down Project Glass' veil of secrecy. With each new announcement, Google reveals a tad bit more of the device's secrets.

Today marked the release of a new video, which shows off the User Interface of Google Glass. The UI shown in the video is a lot more real and less exaggerated than the original concept video. Users interact with Google Glass through a single pane in the top right.

The video shows off some basic things, like recording video, or taking pictures and then sharing them with friends in your circles. You can also video chat with friends, or relatives who are in your circles.

While the device is not being used, it looks as though it simply just shows the time - pretty much like a clock... but wrapped around your eyes...

The video also shows off things like voice control, which obviously has a very large roll in making the device easy to use. But it goes as far as allowing the user to talk out loud and the device will make a note of what is being said - Pretty much like Siri on apple devices.

And, as you would expect, it supports an image search feature, which more than likely scans Google Images for results, then gives you a few of those results on the pane in the top left of the device.

Here is the video, if you have not seen it yet:

Feet I'm confused... Is it like a go pro or something? :p

You're thinking small picture. This is advanced technology here. Albeit it's a concept and most of the video was more than likely recorded on a normal camera then edited with the small screen in the upright corner.

But the concept of this thing is Glasses (basically like the reading glasses you see people wear). It has the ability to create a transparent screen in the corner of your field of vision, to not hinder normal daily vision, while you're wearing the glasses

GoPro is more of a recording camera. It has the ability to record great detail with high fps(frames per second) and can go almost anywhere, but nonetheless it only records.

Google Glass is able to record, live stream/chat (birthday), log vocal chat into text(the girl in the dress walking downstairs), capture and share images immediately (air balloons), and information detail on the go with just the sound of your voice (directions when driving or flight number/terminal).

The streaming, sharing, and information detail show that this thing has to or is going to have internet connection (wifi). I only named off some of the stuff.

Nonetheless this is all concept, but if this thing comes to fruition the way we live could be propelled forward in a number of ways.

Didn't want to type so much, but seeing technology like this being conceptualized and then, hopefully, materialized just makes me go crazy.

You know your stuff... O_O

Seems to be amazing. For the size of it, it has a lot of features crammed in there.
The only slight issue is the styling of it.

XeJames I have heard about these and they sound like a great deal of fun. The video above gives a nice little insight to Google Glass.

Yeah it does, it looks really cool.

DubleJayJ This is great. I love that Google is doing this, it'll really just destroy Apple once and for good.

I couldn't agree more.
