EA's CTO calls PS4 a 'gigantic leap for the industry'

Sony's recently unveiled PlayStation 4 is a "gigantic leap for the industry," Electronic Arts chief technical officer Rajat Taneja says, delivering "eight to ten times the power" of the current generation.

We no longer have to constrain our games or ration computer graphics, memory or bandwidth. We can let the games really flourish in 1080p, 60 frames a second" on PS4, presenting "a level of gameplay experience that is unprecedented."

"We are excited about Sony's news and the launch of the next-gen of consoles. At EA, we have never been as prepared or more ready for the start of a new console."

Taneja said that the PS4's standard PC components ensure that EA's Frostbite engine, its software libraries and tools will run "very smoothly."

"What used to take months in the past will now take days to do," he said.

With the PS4's adoption of social gaming, Taneja said, "We are seeing new ways to approach our IPs like Battlefield and FIFA, and we're already beginning to use these learnings on new IPs that we are building for this console generation."

I wouldn't mind it free as long as the console ain't as easy to hack


it will prob be easy to hack even if its paid lol.


PSN will always be hacked bit I'm sure the console will be amazing at first.


Not easy just they don't have the best security and should work on improving that

Cygnet Seems like PS has really bumped up the notch, could the PS be better then the xbox? I kinda think they will have more sales then the "720"

iJJ to be honest i only buy the console for the online capabilities and from what the ps3 is compared to the xbox 360 sony have to get something like party chat for a game changer


Oh definitely, I'm worried that PSN will soon be paid for.. they will lose all business then.
