Minecraft being considered for PlayStation, Wii U probably not happening

It has come to light that Mojang are considering even more platforms for the popular PC and Xbox 360 game, Minecraft.

Though Minecraft currently has an exclusivity deal on Xbox, Mojang's Jens Bergensten (Jeb_), lead designer on Minecraft, recently told sources that the team will consider PlayStation platforms whenever the deal lapses. Those hoping for a Wii U version may be out of luck, however, as he added that a port for the Nintendo console is "very unlikely."

No, a different company will do it for the ps3. 4J Studios will continue working on it. They said once they hit 1.2.5(which should be 2 major updates away) that they are gonna sit down with Mojang, and see what's gonna happen.

The PC version is superior in nearly every way, BUT the huge difference in sales is what would push them to put it on the PS3.

The Wii U's processor wouldn't be able to handle Minecraft even at tiny render distance.

Same i prefer to play it on PC but the Xbox version is okay. IMO.

I agree, but this would do good on the ps3...

Develop Probably because the Nintendo's system specs do not meet the requirements in order to run the game. If it did, however, I predict it would be good for the WiiU!


I am sure that if they can make a version of Minecraft run on android, they would have no issues making a version for the Wii U. I'm not sure why they wouldn't make one for the Wii U, but they didn't say that it definitely wouldn't happen.
