iPhone 5S may include fingerprint sensor and NFC

Its appears that Apple may be adding NFC and fingerprint technology into the iPhone 5S with a report suggesting that the company will use the fingerprint sensor to improve the security of NFC features such as payment handling.

China Times has reported that Chipbond,a chinese chipmaker , was selected by Apple to manufacture these components for use in the iPhone 5S.

Foxconn has also seemingly started production on the iPhone 5S and are preparing to really step up manufacturing, according to Macotakara, which has previously provided accurate details in that past. Macotakara also reports that leading Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo may finally begin selling the iPhone with the release of the 5S.

yay This is a little weird. This reminds me of the kind of technology we thought of when we were kids. It's cool to see its still an idea now a days.


Yeah that's true, let's just hope 'Chipboard' actually use some high-tech stuff here that will actually work. It would be pretty cool to just touch the screen and get access to your phone.

It sounds like a great way of 'protection'. The reason, because it will be so hard to recognize your fingerprint, you'll never get into your phone. Unless they use top quality tech to do this.

Slyestcat This is probably going to include one of those bad updates that limits people who haven't purchased the newest device. The fingerprint scanner is alos probably going to be one of those things that doesn't work correctly until the iPhone 7.


Most likely it will have all these problems, but that's what makes people want the newer version.


Exactly what I said before, I agree with you. There will be lots of errors with this.

It will also raise the cost


I can predict some errors with it, like the windows finger scan has.


Hopefully nothing to serious though


I would just wait for the iPhone 6 i never tend to get the S series from apple
