Next gen Xbox will have Blu-Ray!

Earlier today, a Microsoft Durango Development Kit popped up on the internet. Included with the leak were 5 images of the "Microsoft Durango XDK Documentation Setup" which shed light on previously unknown parts of the console's hardware and functionality.  

What we find to be the most significant aspect of the leaked documentation can be seen in the image below. It says: "Durango consoles will have a Blu-Ray Disc drive. Disc media will be used for distribution, but during gameplay, games will not use content from the optical disc." What do you think of this?

That will trump PS3 if it has Blu-Ray :D

imanikz If games are required to be installed on to the hard drive and the games are blue-ray discs, then the next xbox hard drive will need to have a lot of memory because a single layer blue-ray disc is 25gb and dual layer blue-ray discs are 50gb.


When you install a game it won't be all 25 or 50 gb. It might just be 15gb or 20gb, whatever the size of the game is. I mean there isn't that many games on the PC that are going to be 50gb, so I think we'll be good for a while.

Pretty damn sure Sony copied Microsoft with the trophy system, because they're completely different to achievements, oh and wasn't it like 6 months after the ps3 was released they added the trophies?

Playstation will cost even more than the Xbox, judging by what happened with the PS3 and Xbox 360, the 360 was so much cheaper. However I could be wrong, the only way I'll pay more for the Xbox is if LIVE is free.
