Microsoft pushed back next Xbox reveal because it's not afraid of PS4?

There's been a lot of chatter on the Internet lately about the details for the next version of Microsoft's Xbox console. Officially, Microsoft still isn't talking, but new and unconfirmed rumors claim Microsoft is aiming for a first reveal of the hardware and games at a small event on May 21st, with a bigger reveal set for E3 2013 in June.

Previous rumors claimed that Microsoft was planning to reveal the next Xbox sometime in April, but now a new story from Bloomberg, via unnamed sources, claims that Microsoft decided to push back the next Xbox announcement until May because the company "saw little competitive pressure from Sony." That company surprised many in the game industry by officially revealing the PlayStation 4 console at an event in February, with a launch planned for the holiday period of 2013.

The same Bloomberg story repeated previously reported rumors that the next Xbox would have a processor and graphics chip both provided by AMD, which is confirmed as providing that hardware for the PS4. It also mentioned that the console may not be backwards compatible with current Xbox 360 games because of the AMD hardware, which was also mentioned by Electronic Arts' chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen mentioned as a strong possibility in February.

brendan64shark Personally I like the Xbox type systems. But the specs are the same really I mean look at the PS3 and the Xbox 360 both are the same graphics, but all the PS3 lovers argue that it has a blue ray player. But from the sound of it the new xbox should have a blue ray player in it. All in all there will always be a war over which system is better.

PS3 and Xbox do not have same graphics.
I don't know if you have watched Robbaz on YT but he has a few 1080p comparason video's of Xbox, PS3 and PC. He did one on Duke Nukem and the graphics where dark on PS3 and Xbox was a little close to PC.

The new power and graphic capabilities will soon be completely comparable to PC gaming, for those of us who were around during the launch of the Xbox 360, we got to see just what Microsoft could bring to the household. At the time of the launch, not many people were discussing the PS3, just purely Xbox talk. Now in the year 2013, a new age of console gaming in rapidly approaching, with little news on the new Xbox and nothing major for the PS4, the community still argues, they continue to fanboy there consoles, and for what reason? There have been numerous console comparisons since the launch of the consoles, the PS3 usually wins for the GPU, and the Xbox for the CPU. As of now, it is easy to post a comment on a thread saying that you will buy the PS5 or the next Xbox but when it all comes down to it, your wallet will decide for you. The PS4 currently had an estimated launch price of $600 and the next Xbox $400. Both consoles are said to have AMD GPU's and 8GB of RAM, in the end both consoles will be very similar but it all comes down to the console exclusives and the Ii of the consoles. A good, gripping home interface with crisp and clean user interaction and controls, will be a strong factor when deciding your next console, bottom line just enjoy the current gen until you get the next gen, once you get the next gen enjoy them and stop the arguing about what console is superior because the majority of you have no clue what system specs are, everybody has there own opinion but it's up to you to decide how to state it.
