Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth co-director Motomu Toriyama believes that Part 3 of the series will finally answer all of our lingering questions, as well as deliver an ending that will "exceed" the original game's.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth came out earlier this year, and despite many of us hoping it would clear up all the questions we had surrounding Whispers, Sephiroth, Cloud, Aerith, and all the other things that aren't quite adding up, all it did was confuse us even more. We'll hold off on any story spoilers in case those of you reading still aren't finished with it, but it's safe to say that the ending was absolutely baffling, and we all want to know what happens next.

Thankfully, it sounds like Part 3 of the series will actually give us the answers we want, as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth co-director Motomu Toriyama claimed at Indonesia Anime Con (thanks Automaton) that its ending will provide them and even "exceeds the original game." Toriyama doesn't give away any hints as to how he's going to top the ending of such a beloved title, he does say Square Enix will make sure it's "moving and impressive" enough for fans.

All we can do at the moment is speculate on exactly what Toriyama is hinting at, but we know the ending will at least be a little different due to Yuffie and Vincent being mandatory characters this time around. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth creative director Tetsuya Nomura hinted that Part 3's ending would tie into Advent Children somehow, so we could even see a time skip of some kind, meaning the ending would be completely different from the original.

Of course, we won't know for sure until Square Enix starts showing off what they have planned, and we could be in for a bit of a wait until that happens. We may not be waiting as long for Part 3 as we did for Rebirth though, as it was revealed that the game's story is already complete, and that we may only need to occupy ourselves until 2027. That gives us three whole years to get lost in fan theories - I just pray I come out of the other side intact.
