Mario and Luigi: Brothership Announced, Launches This November

The Mario and Luigi series has been MIA for nearly a decade now, with 2015’s Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam being the last time it got a new entry (remakes not withstanding), but Nintendo has finally remedied that. Following up on recent Mario RPG releases in the form of a couple of remakes with Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the company has now announced Mario and Luigi: Brothership.

Mario and Luigi: Brothership is a brand-new entry in the series, and yes, it’s a full-fledged RPG, in case fans of the Paper Mario line are worried that that might not be the case. The game will see players travelling to mysterious islands and uncovering their secrets. A number of beloved, familiar characters will be returning as well, including the likes of Bowser and Princess Peach, while Mario and Luigi’s combined attacks and moves both in and out of combat have also seen some enhancements. Check out the trailer below for more details.

Mario and Luigi: Brothership will launch for the Nintendo Switch on November 7. There’s no word on who’s developing the game, with former series developer AlphaDream having shut down in 2019. Stay tuned for more details.
