Since the release of the game’s DLC expansion Shadow of the Erdtree, the Steam version has been subject to mixed user reviews.
Some of these reviews highlight inconsistent performance, which has been an issue since the original release of the game for some PCs, and now FromSoftware has suggested a potential solution.
In a tweet posted by the official Japanese FromSoftware Player Support account on X, players have been advised that if they’re running external mouse control software it could affect the game.
“In the PC version of Elden Ring, the frame rate may not be stable when playing the game while running a mouse-control related app,” the message reads.
“In that case, please try playing the game after stopping the mouse-control related app.”
As Automaton reports, the advice comes after players started sharing the ‘fix’ on X.
User @ECHIZEN_KURAGE_ posted a message earlier this week saying: “The cause of the stuttering problem that has been occurring since the Elden Ring patch was released has been identified. It seems that for some reason the game is incompatible with the mouse gesture app I regularly use, Kazaguru Mouse. I temporarily turned it off and it fixed it.”
【ELDEN RING】PC版において、マウス制御関連のアプリを起動している状態でゲームをプレイするとフレームレートが安定しない場合がございます。その場合、マウス制御関連のアプリを停止してゲームプレイをお試しいただきますようお願いいたします。
