Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded began on June 26, marking the midpoint of the current season. The Reloaded update brought a number of weapons, limited-time modes, and other seasonal content to both of the latest Call of Duty titles, alongside a number of bug fixes and balance adjustments. Further adjustments were made in the July 2 Warzone update, which nerfed some of the most popular weapons from earlier in the Season 4 meta.
The official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account revealed on July 8 that a temporary service disruption prevented Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players from recovering their profile data. Those impacted by the issue will notice missing ranks, progression, and unlocks associated with their profile. This means that players affected by the profile data issue will be unable to use certain weapons and gear in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded. Fortunately, Activision confirms that no player data has been lost, and a full recovery is expected within an hour's time following the post from the Call of Duty Updates Twitter account.

Although Activision reassures Call of Duty fans that they have not lost their data, many in the community are upset and frustrated with the state of the games. For example, Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players on Twitter note that they've experienced lag spikes and other connectivity issues following the release of the Season 4 Reloaded update. Some Xbox fans are also demanding further game optimizations after the developers resolve the issue pertaining to profile data.
After a full profile recovery, Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone may continue to play Season 4 Reloaded content unabated. Both games will continue to receive major content and balance updates in Season 5, leading to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 this October. Once Black Ops 6 is available, content updates for Modern Warfare 3 will likely cease, but fans can expect a year's worth of updates for the newest Call of Duty game and Warzone. Activision will reveal more details about what's to come at the Call of Duty NEXT event in August.
