That information was revealed via the official Call of Duty podcast. In it, Stephanie Snowden, Senior Director of Communications at Activision, and Matt Scronce, the Associate Director of Design at Treyarch, discussed a whole plethora of game details, including the campaign, score streaks, and, of course, its highly touted new movement system dubbed omnimovement. It was there that it was revealed that omnimovement will always be on, though intelligent movement, an entirely separate system, can be modified.
First and foremost, omnimovement will be a feature in all three modes of Black Ops 6; campaign, multiplayer and zombies. There's no toggling it on or off, and it'll be a key part of how the game plays in this year's iteration. "Omnimovement is a core foundational mechanic of the game, you can not turn it off," Snowden said.
You can NOT toggle omnimovement off in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

For the uninitiated, omnimovement essentially turns players into action heroes. Through it, players can sprint in any direction, as well as slide, dive and do Max Payne-esque reverse dives. At the time of its reveal, Scronce said, "We truly believe that once you experience omnimovement, there's no going back." And it turns out, there's no going in any direction because it's always on.
That said, some players confused that system with the intelligent movement system, which has been created with the intention of limiting the number of button presses a player needs to execute in order to do certain things. For example, players can toggle the ability to automatically vault over obstacles or sprint in the game settings. That, combined with the omnimovement system, has created a sort of herky-jerky level of command that can be a little nauseating. Intelligent movement can be individually turned off, though other players are free to use it to their advantage.
It's an interesting development, especially considering that it'll also be on in zombies and the campaign. In other words, there's no escaping it, even if you don't care for multiplayer. That said, it's best to hold judgment until the system is officially in the hands of players. It won't be long for that as the beta officially opens up its Early Access period on August 30, with the open portion set to commence on September 6. Perhaps then we'll get word if this was a wise decision, or something that will doom the next game.
