Nearly a year and a half after its initial release, Hogwarts Legacy is continuing to dominate the sales charts, once again topping in the United Kingdom. The debut of the highly-anticipated action RPG by Portkey Games took the world by storm following its release in 2023, seeing praise for its impressive visuals and the depth of its characters. The RPG set in the Wizarding World has seen plenty of award nominations since its debut, receiving a nomination for The Steam Awards' "Game of the Year" among others. The RPG is now reportedly continuing its dominance into 2024.

Since its February 2023 launch, Hogwarts Legacy has consistently been a sales juggernaut, regularly sitting among the upper echelons of sales charts. As of the game's first anniversary in February, Hogwarts Legacy is said to have sold over 22 million copies as the best-selling game of 2023. Hogwarts Legacy's impressive sales even managed to beat out other gaming titans released during 2023, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and "Game of the Year" winner Baldur's Gate 3. Now, the game is continuing to show impressive numbers, 17 months later.

As reported by PushSquare, Hogwarts Legacy has once again captured the title of best-selling game on the UK's weekly sales charts. In a report of the best-selling games for the week ending July 27, Hogwarts Legacy clinched the top spot ahead of games like the newly released Lovestruck expansion for The Sims 4 and EA Sports FC 24. The list was filled with plenty of other best-selling mainstays, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe finishing in 4th and the Switch version of Minecraft coming in sixth place. Hogwarts Legacy also previously topped the UK sales charts in early June.

Hogwarts Legacy's sustained success comes as Portkey Games has consistently continued to support the game with new patches. While stability and bug fixes have largely been the focus for Hogwarts Legacy's updates, the developer has added more content for players to enjoy. Hogwarts Legacy's summer update, released in June, made the PlayStation-exclusive "Haunted Hogsmeade" quest available across all platforms, alongside the addition of a Photo Mode. The sizable patch also included new cosmetics for players to pick up following its release.

With Portkey Games continuing to support Hogwarts Legacy, the game's rumored "Fall Update" planned for later this year has seen plenty of speculation. Recent leaks have suggested that a major update for Hogwarts Legacy is coming in the Fall, eliciting plenty of fan speculation about its contents. Fans have suggested everything from a New Game Plus mode and new Spells to new areas for players to explore, like the iconic Chamber of Secrets. Though no information has surfaced about what the Fall Update will entail, more new content should excite plenty of Hogwarts Legacy fans.
