This makes it the first time that Elden Ring has topped US software charts since it originally did so upon its release in May of 2022. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 remains the best-selling game of the year so far, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Then there’s Kingdom Hearts: Integrum Masterpiece, which launched for Steam in July and saw a staggering increase in sales, climbing up from No. 399 in the charts in June to No. 3 last month. Meanwhile, new releases Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD debuted in the charts at No. 4 and No. 8 respectively, while The Elder Scrolls Online jumped up to No. 18 (from No. 198 in June) following the release of its Gold Road expansion.
On the hardware side of things, the PS5 was once again the best-selling console of the month in the US in both unit and dollar sales, with the Nintendo Switch following in second place in unit sales, and Xbox Series X/S in dollar sales.
