After a massive controversy, Dr. Disrespect is closing to a Twitch return. For those who aren't in the loop (which is presumably a small fraction of gamers), the streamer has gone on a hiatus several months ago after being exposed for inappropriate sexting with a minor.

It's worth noting that the conversation occurred back in 2017, which led to a Twitch ban in 2020. However, it's not clear why it took Twitch so much time to react.

He got banned because got caught sexting a minor in the then existing Twitch whispers product. He was trying to meet up with her at TwitchCon. The powers that be could read in plain text.

Since the initial news broke out, life has been a living hell for the gamer.

Dr. Disrespect lost several of his biggest sponsors, including the San Francisco 49ers, Turtle Beach, and Midnight Society Studio.

Unfortunately for the charismatic streamer, these organizations weren't the only ones appalled by his behavior. Other influencers, such as Nickmercs and TimTheTatman, have publicly blasted his behavior.

As a result of his actions, YouTube decided to completely remove Dr. Disrespect's channel from the platform.

In the now-removed X post, Dr. Disrespect claimed that he had never met a minor and that there was nothing illegal going on. According to the statement, they never exchanged pictures, and it was more of casual banter than anything else.

Regardless, he laments his poor decision and would turn back time if he could.

Since then, the streamer has made several X posts, including the notorious chess/checkers image. The second, cryptic action occurred on August 8th, when he changed his X header.

Finally, on August 14th, Dr. Disrespect hinted that he was returning to streaming, posting the following:

Vacation is just too good right now.

We'll be back soon though Champs. We have lots to talk about.

Based on this post alone, it seems the influencer wants to further explain his actions.

The X post received mixed reactions, with many users blasting his wrongdoing while others couldn't wait for his return. The entire thread became quickly littered with goofy memes, which is to be expected within the gaming community.
