Right now, Deadlock is ranked at 53 on the Steam charts, with 31,294 players online at the time of writing. This is enough to just put it above Helldivers 2's player count, as well as other huge games like Left 4 Dead 2, No Man's Sky, and Rocket League.
While the numbers are a little lower this Sunday, it was spotted that Deadlock's player count was enough to bump it higher than Overwatch 2's yesterday. And while both Overwatch and Helldivers 2 are available on other platforms, it's still impressive to see a game that Valve hasn't publicly acknowledged surpasses them both on Steam.

Of course, being an unannounced game, you can't just open Steam and download Deadlock from a store page. Right now, the elusive shooter is only available to play if you've received an invite. Thankfully, anyone who has gotten into the game is able to recommend another user for an invite, so you'll just have to wait until a friend of yours has managed to secure a place. Valve is also inviting Steam users to join itself, so it might just be a case of waiting and seeing if you're lucky enough to be included in the next wave of players.
As for its gameplay, Deadlock is said to be a MOBA/hero shooter crossover. The closed beta has come at a good time then, as Marvel Rivals just enjoyed a successful beta period, so much so that many were mourning the fact that they had to return to Overwatch 2 once it was over. It seems that there's a real desire out there for another hero shooter, and judging from Deadlock's early success, many are interested in seeing what Valve is cooking up behind the scenes.
