Sean Murray Is Already Teasing Another No Man's Sky Update

Hello Games' founder, Sean Murray, seems to be teasing that the No Man's Sky Worlds Part 2 update is close to release, as he's once again shared a cryptic emoji on Twitter.

Remember when No Man's Sky launched in 2016 and was largely viewed as a disappointment by its players? Hello Games certainly does, as it's spent the last eight years on one of gaming's biggest redemption stories, releasing free update after free update and transforming the game into the open-galaxy adventure that it was originally promised to be.

While most fans would agree that No Man's Sky has already long since proven itself, that hasn't stopped Hello Games from continuing to improve it over the past few months. 2024 has been a little wild for the game, with the Omega update releasing at the start of the year and the Worlds update dropping just a month ago, but it seems like it's not slowing down any time soon.

As pointed out on the No Man's Sky subreddit, Sean Murray took to Twitter late last night to do what he always does - cryptically tease a new No Man's Sky update by using a single emoji. This time around, Murray shared an emoji of an Amphora, a type of pot that is mostly commonly linked to Ancient Greece.

Although it's possible that Murray is teasing Light No Fire this time around, it seems much more likely that he's hinting at No Man's Sky Worlds Part 2. We don't know what's going to be included in the update as of the time of writing, but fans are guessing that the Amphora is hinting at an overhaul of points of interest, artifacts (also known as relics), and buried relics.

It's gotta be an overhaul of artifacts. Making them really matter, making them worth searching for. Maybe a little Indiana Jones-type expedition?

Fans have been asking for artifacts to be changed for a while now, so it wouldn't come as much of a surprise to see Worlds Part 2 focus on making them more worthwhile. Some fans have suggested that Hello Games should add more relic models and give players a way to display them instead of just selling them or giving them to the Archive library.

For now, though, we don't actually know if that's what Worlds Part 2 is going to focus on. The Amphora does seem like a pretty big hint towards that being the case, but we'll have to wait and see when Sean Murray reveals a little more, presumably later this week.
