Farming Simulator 25 Will Have An East Asian Map

4
Farming Simulator 25 is coming out on November 12th, and the developers at GIANTS Software have dropped major news at the Tokyo Game Show.

The most realistic farming game in the market today is finally going east, specifically to the province of Hutan Pantai.

Words do not do justice to how stunning the new map looks, but thankfully there is a trailer to do the talking.

GIANTS Software took primary inspiration from different areas of Japan and China when creating the map, and it shows.

Hutan Pantai strikes a good balance between urban, rural, and historical. Residential areas have vibrant pagodas, Shinto temples, cobblestone streets, and winding mountain roads.

At the same time, you have neon-clad high streets, modern highways, and imposing port infrastructure to help move the fruit of your labour out of the country.

The only constant between these contrasting realities is the abundance of kei trucks and tuk-tuks, the unsung heroes of small businesses that will help farmers reach areas where a usual freight truck cannot pass.

Besides the peaceful East Asian countryside, Farming Simulator 25 brings major features to the game.

Farmers will have access to two types of rice, bundled with specialised planting and harvesting equipment (though non-mechanised planting remains an option).

Fluid and particle physics are more realistic now to offer an authentic experience when flooding areas ahead of rice planting.

Outside of rice paddies and roaming water buffalos, Farming Simulator 25 is introducing peas, beans, and spinach.

In terms of wildlife, besides new species like water buffalos native to Hutan Pantai, GIANTS Software is finally adding baby animals into the fold.

Old farming staples will also get an overhaul with the consumables, requiring a steady supply of nets and wraps before creating bales, for example.

The developers wanted to make this entry more accessible, and machinery steering plays a major role. To help both player-piloted and AI vehicles, Farming Simulator 25 has a system similar to your average driving GPS.

It maps an optimal path through a field based on the task, avoiding obstacles or major irregularities. Depending on the setting, this assist can take control of the machine during turns to maintain alignment.

At heart, Farming Simulator 25 is a farming game, and a good one at that. It will not be a paradigm shift compared to Farming Simulator 22, but it does not need to be.

The new environment, crops, mechanics, and overall polish will make it that much more immersive and relaxing for virtual farmers. Farming Simulator 25 is out on November 12th for PC, Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5.
