Resident Evil 2 is coming to iPhone, iPad and Mac

Capcom will release Resident Evil 2 for iPhone, iPad and Mac later this year.

Following in the footstep of its Resident Evil 4, 7 and Village mobile ports, the game will hit the App Store on December 31, 2024.

It will be supported on iPhone 15 Pro models, iPhone 16, and every iPad and Mac with the M1 chip or later.

Like the previous Resident Evil releases on iOS, the beginning of the game will be playable for free, but the full title will need to be unlocked via an in-app purchase.

While Capcom hasn’t confirmed how much it will cost, Resident Evil 7 and Village cost $20, and Resident Evil 4 costs $60.

As of August, the iOS versions of these Resident Evil games require an online connection at start-up. This will also be the case with Resident Evil 2.

The Resident Evil 2 remake was originally released for PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2019, when VGC named it our Game of the Year.

It has since been released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Amazon Luna too.

Capcom confirmed this summer that Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi will helm the next new entry in the series, which is expected to be Resident Evil 9.
