What is included in the upcoming Dragon Age: The Veilguard update?
In an X (formerly Twitter) post from Bioware, the upcoming Dragon Age: The Veilguard update includes bug fixes, minor balance changes, and some crash mitigations. Here are a couple of fixes the developer is implementing later this week:
Fixed an issue where some customizations were not applied to the Inquisitor correctly in one scene.
Fixed an issue that caused Companion Skill Points to reset.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard launched just last week. Critically, it did pretty well garnering an 83 on Metacritic. However, the game received a pretty dismal user score due to an effort from the usual grifters and trolls partaking in the review bombing campaign.
A Metacritic spokesperson recently addressed the toxic user reviews, stating the review aggregate has a system in place to moderate submissions including ones that contain any sentiment of abuse.
“Metacritic has a moderation system in place to track violations of our terms of use,” said the spokesperson. “Our team reviews each and every report of abuse (including but not limited to racist, sexist, homophobic, insults to other users, etc) and if violations occur, the reviews are removed.”
Despite the controversy surrounding it, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been applauded for its impressive visuals, and performance. For PlayStation players, its visual fidelity, and performance only gets better with the upcoming PS5 Pro. The game is just one of over 50 games receiving console specific enhancements when the new hardware launches on November 7, 2024. Like many other PS5 Pro enhanced titles, this is mostly thanks to Sony’s machine learning upscaling technology PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).
