Call of Duty: Ghosts teaser shows work-in-progress footage

A teaser for Call of Duty: Ghosts shows work-in-progress footage and promises new details later this week.

Released via video social media platform Vine, the five second video (embedded below) shows several brief, in-progress grabs from the game, and the promise of live footage at the new generation Xbox reveal on May 21.
This promise comes despite hints from a Microsoft exec that Tuesday's Xbox reveal will focus solely on the console, with specific titles to be shown at E3 on June 10.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will release November 5 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and is also in development for next-generation consoles. The Infinity Ward developed title will be powered by a new, next-generation Call of Duty engine.

According to Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg, "Ghosts delivers an all-new story, all-new characters, an all-new Call of Duty world, all powered by a next generation Call of Duty engine, which is a leap forward for the franchise."

I agree with the few posters beneath me when I saw that this game looks exactly like every other Call of Duty game released over the last four years. Really doesn't look like anything special.

All lot of this footage looks even better when it was completed, it looks like a good game but with some of the environments look way to extreme to be real but then again COD was never meant to be a realistic game.

Honestly it looks the same as the other Call of Duty games. No difference.

From what I've seen so far,
I really don't see much of a difference.

Not excited, but we'll see what the future holds.

I think this might be one of the better cods. :) I am ready for it.

pooky177 Treyarch: 1) Keeps moving the games forward, keeping it from becoming dull and the same thing every time they put one out.
2) Balances the games very well.
3) Doesn't cater to terrible players. Get good or fall behind.

Infinity Ward: 1) Hasn't innovated the series since 2007.
2) Isn't balanced at all (Shot guns as secondaries, easy quick scoping, OMA, Commando, and every other perk that doesn't work along with a blast shield equipment that doesn't work.)
3) Caters to the terrible players by rewarding them for getting killed.

Please argue me.

Call of Duty has been the same thing since 2007. It has sort of been made into a joke in the the hardcore PC gaming community. In my opinion both studios are way overrated. The most talented are probably Rockstar North, Bethesda Game Studios, Blizzard, Irrational Games, and DICE. Most things in CoD are recycled and repetitive that's why I grew bored of the series.

Your comparing apples and oranges. Game taste and opinions, and I disagree with you. The basis of COD has stayed the same, which is good and it works. It keeps people happy. It's like if you had a very nice home and added a patio or deck to it, and then the next year added a garage. That's how I look at the COD series, but Infinity Ward doesn't try anything new. Treyarch branches out because they care more about the community.

What I want to see is a major change of gameplay. A few years ago there was talk about sledgehammer developing a Call of Duty MMO. But somewhere that idea has been lost.(or maybe it still might be there idk). Right now Activision is making their developers keep a strong repetitive gameplay while completely grinding it out every year. I would like to see a major change in the series and if they still want to release a cod game every year that is fine but I want to to see some real innovation. They need to release a traditional Cod game one year and the new gameplay style the next.

The game is awful in my opinion, little things like lag compensation, quickscoping and no dedicated servers is what brought me away from the series (and that it hasn't changed at all over the past 6 years) they make the game frustrating and it seems that the only players that benifit from the game and get a good experience are the ones that play it non-stop for 2 weeks. The game is for children too, that's why they won't change it, the kids won't notice it and they will still buy it every year just because of the new maps and new guns!!!

I agree with you to a certain point but I am pretty sure if you asked any of them developers you just mentioned to make a game plus map packs in the time frame Iw and Treyarch have to develop a new game they would bring out pile of sh1t that's much more worse than the current cods. I think if Activision told Iw and Treyarch to make a cod game in a bigger time frame it would be much better, just my opinion. Ghost's is rumored to have been worked on for almost 3 years and running on a new engine, new console so hopefully it should be brilliant...although I doubt it will be.

Well to start this off I first have to say 90% of DLC is stupid. It is a bunch of crap that should have been in the game in the first place.

About Treyarch bringing that out from scratch in just 1-2 years that is a load of BS. They have a lot of recycled assets of last games. Trust me this makes things a lot easier on them, I know this because I do game design myself. I can also tell you most of these 3 years was mostly programming "The new Engine" (unless they are using someone else's). Also it was planning things out and training staff for the new engine and negotiations with Microsoft on Durango. A lot of those 3 years have also been spent on MW3.

Of course they have recycled stuff that's what makes it the franchise what it is lol, it wouldn't be cod if it didn't and it's the same with battlefield etc. As for training staff and negotiations all game developers have their own sections within the company working on certain things, the people making the game are not the people making negotiations and training people, most people know this lol. It makes sense that they had part of IW working on the new engine and Ghosts etc and the rest of IW working on Mw3 with Sledgehammer and Raven Software to help them with the stuff the guys working on ghosts would normally do.
