19,000 Black Ops 6 Ranked Play cheaters banned

Over 19,000 Ranked Play bans have been dished out to Black Ops 6 players during the mode’s first week of availability, according to Activision.

Ranked Play launched on November 20 and is accessible to players who have achieved at least 50 wins in multiplayer.

The game’s publisher detailed its progress in combatting cheaters in an update posted on X this week.

It said there have been “over 19,000 Ranked Play bans” and that it’s making “hourly sweeps to remove cheaters from the Ranked Play mode and leaderboard.”

“AI systems continue to ramp up with code optimizations to accelerate enforcements,” Activision added.

It has said that requiring players to win 50 multiplayer matches before accessing Ranked Play gives its anti-cheat team a significant historical match history to examine before approving accounts to play the mode.

The company is also using a Replay Investigation Tool to monitor replays of top players as part of its investigation process.

In a bid to combat “disruptive bahviour” in Ranked Play, Activision recently adjusted thresholds for player pings during matches, in order to better detect when a VPN is being used in order to jump to different server regions.

And it has rolled out enhanced detections for when players are AFK (intentionally not playing the game), which some users do in a bid to boost their XP.

All of these measures will also be active for Ranked Play in Call of Duty: Warzone, which is launching during Season 1.

Black Ops 6 is the “biggest Call of Duty ever” based on player engagement during its first 30 days, Activision claimed this week.
