Bethesda Confirm Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Story Length

The wait is almost over. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle comes out on December 9 if you did not shell out north of $100 for early access on December 6.

The latest set of Indy's adventures will naturally be a single-player story-based experience, so the game's worth hinges on the length of the campaign.

According to Brandon Morgan of Insider Gaming, the numbers are out and might leave some players feeling underwhelmed.

The standard edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle retails for $69.99, which has become a go-to price for story-oriented AAA single-player games.

Based on the latest information, beating the story in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes around 12 to 14 gameplay hours.

While this figure is nothing extreme, some players will be disappointed considering similarly-priced single-player experiences like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have pushed closer to 20 hours.

On the flip side, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is jam-packed with cutscenes, enough for two full-feature films.

MachineGames creative directors Axel Torvenius and design director Jens Andersson revealed earlier that the game has approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes worth of cinematic sequences in the game.

The game's cutscenes have the potential to become the most authentic Indiana Jones film experience in over a decade.

MachineGames got constant access to Lucasfilm resources and tried to be as authentic as possible to George Lucas and Steven Spielberg's vision of Indiana Jones.

The burning question after all this is, well, is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle worth it?

There will be no concrete answer until reviews are out, but if you want to crunch numbers (a capital sin when talking about art, but it is what it is), go ahead.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle works out to about $5 per hour of gameplay. If you are in it just for the cutscenes, that is a little over $18.60 per hour. Considering you are getting both, that brings you closer to $3.94 worth of entertainment per hour.

If you want to hit up the AMC in Queens, tickets go from $13.99 to $21.99, for around 2 hours of movies and another solid 30 minutes wasted on trailers you don't care about. That is without counting the overpriced snacks, drinks, and transport.

If to entertain this silly exercise, it is up to you to decide. Is going to the cinema worth it? If yes, then you get even better value from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, on top of probably your only chance to witness a new authentic Indiana Jones experience.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle comes out December 9 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5.
