Xbox One isn't always online, but requires internet connection

It has been confirmed that the Xbox One will not be always online, but require internet connection. One of the reasons why this has been implemented, is because all games must be installed now. Microsoft also uses the Cloud Storage device to store movies, music, shows, etc.

Thats not really the reason. There will still be mods for it.

Guess I'll be buying a PS4 this time.

Well, thats probably the end of xbox right there. With the ability to play games offline and play used games, sony will be the ruler again for this generation of consoles.
