Xbox One will require an internet connection 'once every day'
When asked by Kotaku how regularly the Xbox One will require an internet connection when playing a single player game, Harrison responded: "I believe it's 24 hours."
When questioned whether the user will need to connect online once every day, Harrison responded: "correct".
Harrison's comments elaborate on information on the official Xbox news site. According to that site, "[Xbox One] does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet.
"We're designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection."

Console looks a lot better on the picture in this post in my opinion, think it looks pretty sleek compared to other pictures. I'm also not baffled by this, my console is online 100% of the time anyway, so it doesn't effect me :)

Carlooch Im sure if it isn't connected once every 24 hours, its not going to lock you out of playing games or anything, they are just saying for best experience it should be connected to the internet, just like the 360. Not sure why everyone is crying about the new consoles, looks solid to me.
I Agree, i like the look of most of these new features on the new xbox, im defiantly going to get this :D

Literacy Microsoft are trying to focus on gaiming and entertainment, while sony is just straight focusing on gaming.
tbh. This is what i want, like many others, is to just play video games. I dont need it to stream netflix, i only use my phone. I do nt need it to play blu ray, i have a 200 dollar blu ray player sitting under my tv already, i dont need it to check my heartrate, im playing a video game, its not exactly excercise.
They are giveing us features that we never really wanted and it's only. going to add to the cost. Tbh i think sony will have a more powerful gaming console. Which is what i want.

milkxkingTheNoose Soooo uhm??? What if someone is too poor to afford internet and was gifted an xbox one or something and cant play any games because they require an internet connection? I understand the whole point of it but really?! I think this is ******** in all honesty (of course I have internet and wouldn't have this problem, I'm just stating a likely scenario).
Well I guess that's why they are telling us this now.
Correct, at least they tell us before we go out and buy it so if you are having the scenario above then dont buy it...
