The first trailer for The Witcher 4 has been debuted.

The CG trailer, which was shown off on stage during The Game Awards, can be viewed below. According to the trailer, the footage was rendered using an “unannounced RTX GPU”.

The trailer also confirms the game will follow Ciri, last seen in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

CD Projekt confirmed last month that The Witcher 4 had started full production.

“I’m pleased to announce that several weeks ago it moved on to full-scale production,” chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz said of the game, which is codenamed Polaris, as part of the company’s latest quarterly earnings results.

Game director Sebastian Kalemba also said in a post on X: “I’m thrilled to announce that Project Polaris has entered the full-scale production phase!

“With new challenges just around the corner, it’s the talented and hard-working people who make me believe we can together make the upcoming Witcher Saga a remarkable experience.

“No stopping now! Stay tuned for what’s on the other side of the coin!”

It was announced in 2022 that Kalemba had been appointed to direct the new Witcher saga, which has been confirmed to be a trilogy of games.

He joined the Polish studio in October 2014 and initially served as lead animator for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, before being promoted to head of animation for the whole company.
