That’s according to event producer and host Geoff Keighley, who said viewership for last Thursday’s show was up 31% compared to 2023’s event.
It marks a tenth consecutive year of growth for The Game Awards, which had 118 million livestreams in 2023.
Citing Streams Charts data, Keighley said this year’s show attracted over four million peak concurrent users on Twitch/YouTube.
“Today we are humbled and thrilled to share that The Game Awards 10th Anniversary show delivered a historic 154 million global livestreams, our most watched show ever,” he wrote on X.
“Thanks to our incredible team, the industry and the fans for giving us your time and believing in TGA.”
This year’s event was being hyped up more than usual, and for most people it delivered, with new announcements from Naughty Dog, FromSoftware, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Hideki Kamiya, Fumito Ueda and more.
Astro Bot won four awards, including Game of the Year, while Metaphor: ReFantanzio and Balatro each took home three prizes.
