Leaker 91mobiles tweeted four renders of the Switch 2 on January 9, 2025, giving fans a view of the console from multiple angles. It's one of the most detailed looks of the system yet, and while it's still unclear if these are official renders, they align with several earlier rumors and images. One of the most notable details is a small opening on the side of one of the joy-cons, which lines up with theories that the Switch 2's joy-cons will have an optical sensor, giving them mouse-like functionality. It's also worth noting that the rails from the original Switch's joy-cons are gone, with the controllers instead using magnets to attach to the console.

The supposed renders also show off some extra buttons not present on the original Switch — one below the home button on the right joy-con and two more near the Z buttons on the back. Earlier leaked images also showcased a new button for the Switch 2 alongside a U-shaped kickstand, which these latest pictures also feature. There's also a USB-C port on the top of the console, which fans had already speculated about and would let the system charge or connect to wired accessories while in tabletop mode, which wasn't possible with the OG Switch.

There are slight differences between these new renders and earlier leaks, so it's hard to say if any are legitimate or if they all stem from users making their own renders based on popular rumors. However, there are also theories that the Switch 2 will launch with multiple versions, which could account for some differences. Without an official announcement, though, fans should still take any leaks with a grain of salt. It shouldn't be much longer before Nintendo reveals the console and clarifies what consumers can expect.
