Capcom has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Mai’s appearance in Street Fighter 6, as the femme fatale from Fatal Fury is coming to the game as a DLC fighter.

Mai isn’t the first SNK hero to appear in Street Fighter 6, as Terry Bogard made his way into the game in 2024 as a guest fighter. They’re both part of the Year 2 Character Pass, along with returning franchise faces Elena and M. Bison.

Following her recent in-game reveal, Mai finally has a proper gameplay trailer on the official Street Fighter YouTube channel. Fans have been given a glimpse at how she’ll work in-game, as she battles series staples like Chun-Li and Ryu.

Mai uses a mixture of her fighting style from the Fatal Fury/King of Fighters games with the new mechanics introduced in Street Fighter 6.

In Street Fighter 6, Mai can not only fling fireballs and shield herself with a blazing inferno, but she also fights with her fan, making her one of the characters with a weapon.

Like the other Street Fighter 6 heroes, Mai can also parry and use the Drive Gauge for all kinds of offense and defensive purposes.

Mai was also shown with two outfits: her iconic skimpy red and white ninja affair, along with a skin-tight leather suit. Chances are, she’ll get more DLC outfit options further down the line.

Fans won’t have to wait long before they kick butt with Mai, as she’s going to be added to Street Fighter 6 on February 5, 2025. Players can either purchase her using Fighter Coins or by buying the Year 2 Fighter Pass.

Mai is the penultimate character to arrive in the Year 2 Fighters Pass, with Elena set to arrive soon. Fans are hopeful that more crossovers are on the way, though Mai is sure to leave a lasting impression on both the fans and the competition when she arrives in the game.
