Epic VP: PS4 and Xbox One 'not a generation ahead of PC'

There's no way that PS4 and Xbox One are "a generation ahead" of high end PCs, according to Epic Games vice president Mark Rein.

He took to Twitter to react to comments made by EA chief technology officer Rajat Teneja, who said last week of the upcoming consoles:
"These architectures are a generation ahead of the highest end PC on the market and their unique design of the hardware, the underlying operating system and the live service layer create one of the most compelling platforms to reimagine game mechanics."

IgnorantChildren I have a $1600 gaming PC that currently runs everything maxed out. But I still have more fun sitting on my Xbox in party chat with IRL friends. From my experience with PC gaming over the years I've learned one important thing.

Good Graphics =/= Fun


Who said graphics mean fun? Ever hear of DaZ, Mount and Blade, world of Warcraft, counter strike? Based on your previous comments you do not have a $1600 gaming pc.

I'm not sure what to say. That was beautiful immyjimmy.

Honestly I love console gaming and how simple it is, but pc is top notch above the current gens. Sure I'll admit the new consoles are great and can beat out most pcs, but the "highest end PC"...no.

Just because PC gamers 'can' upgrade their hardware and software each year doesn't mean they 'have' to. If you want to save even more money and still have a high end PC then the best route is to just build one.

Keyboard = More Buttons
More Buttons = More Controls
More Controls = More actions and hotkeys
Controller = Less Buttons
Less Buttons = Limited Controls


less buttons is also easier controls and no confusing ones like PC
with PC you have to move your arms which means its about 1secs to go from both sides to middle since keyboards are quite wide


with a keyboard you are mainly using the wasd keys and stuff near it. The only reason you would have controls on the other side of the keyboard are for special hotkeys and extra actions. Ex. In Mount and Blade the P button makes you throw your arms in the air and surrender
