Microsoft says it is listening to negative feedback about Xbox One DRM
In a comment on his blog, Larry Hryb, director of programming for Xbox Live, said Microsoft is "fully aware of what's going on." Hryb's response was in regard to a comment that said "the entire world is watching Twitter explode" and that "the campaign for no DRM is in full swing." The comment cited a campaign started by gaming website NeoGAF on Sunday that requested Twitter users use a variety of hashtags to inform Sony and Microsoft of negative user stances on DRM issues such as a persistent Internet requirement that has yet to be clarified.
"I am also working on a few things to address it," Hryb wrote in response to the user. "I can't say much more right now. But we are listening."
Microsoft has been fuzzy about what exact requirements users will face with the Xbox One in regards to an Internet connection and how the console will handle the purchase and sale of games. In a statement on an official website, the company has said the console "does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet." Comments from Microsoft executives when the console was announced indicated the device would need to periodically access the Internet as a kind of verification service.
Phil Harrison, a corporate vice president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, told Kotaku the requirement may be as often as once per day, though Microsoft representatives later said that was a "potential scenario" and no specific time period requirement has been announced yet.
The backlash to Microsoft's DRM plans comes just two months after EA faced similar responses following the launch of "SimCity," which was plagued by server issues that left owners unable to connect to the Internet-required game. EA's chief executive resigned just two weeks after the game launched.

This is the answer. ^^
Exactly!
And another thing, the reason why they called the X-Box One is because the X-Box is an all-in-ONE entertainment system. You can watch TV, play games, listen to music, etc.
Also, they probably named it that because it sounds like "X-Box WON". You know?
So what happens if you don't have an internet connection. For example your cable goes down. You go in holiday. You live in a rural area where the internet is prone to go off, then what?
The Xbox None
This almost made me piss myself
if you live in an area like that and your buying a xbox then your priorities are messed up.
You are an idiot. You can be extremely wealthy, but live in a spotty area. Doesn't mean you SHOULDN'T buy a console.
Holy sh*t dude. Listen to yourself. If your internet goes out, well not your fault.
I lived in a city with 150,000 people and another one right next to me with another 200,000.
Half of both cities, including me, were out of power for a WEEK. When we got back on, internet wasn't back for another 4 days. Really bad storm hit, how is it my fault that that had happened? I was able to play my 360 offline when my power came back without my internet.
Move out of the city? Seriously if your so mad about you needing internet connection, just set up a damned tent next to McDonalds! %10 care about the Internet Requirement (which has yet to be clarified) and the other %90 GNF so stop complaining!
LOL I did, but let's look at this.
700$ for a two bedroom, full kitchen, living room, basement and attic. Some utilities included. That's a STEAL. Why the F*CK would I move because of a Xbox? Idiot.
Also, setting up a tent near Mcdonalds. Illegal, pretty sure that's considered loitering. Actually, more people care then you think, generally the intelligent people who realize it's a problem opposed to people complaining about the name, how it looks and that it can watch TV.
Power outages happen EVERYWHERE. There is nothing that can be done. I'm buying a product, I want full ownership and ability to play the damn thing whenever I want, not when Microsoft tells me it's okay. It's just a new form of DRM, no reason to allow games to be played offline for a limited time. They just don't want you to modify your console and play pirated games.
I will laugh when you have this sort of issue, you will realize how much of a problem it really is.

MerkinsDeadMouse Good. they can start off by changing that horrible name
Nothing wrong with the name
For some reason I got so pissed off with the name, it makes no sense, it's the third console, I think Xbox 3 would have been a sexy name!

BONDGUY8514697 Listen I know you guys will facepalm, but I don't understand what DRM is. Is it having to install the disc or always on online requirements?
From what I understand (Which is quite minimal so don't take it as fact) it's digital rights management, this gives them the right to charge for pre-owned games and other content!

They better fix this. I want Xbox one the work the same as 360 just with the performance upgrades.

Soooo where are you getting these stats from? This guy has a valid point. With your logic you should never get on the internet so you don't see the "10%" complaining.
