Xbox1.com domain next on Microsoft’s list

Microsoft has filed yet another dispute over domain names related to its new console, this time chasing down the owner of xbox1.com via the National Arbitration Forum.

The domain is currently registered to a Japanese address, and has had three owners in the last ten years.

Since filing a dispute with the NAF is an extreme measure, Microsoft is likely to have pursued the domain through less dramatic means, and been rejected.

As Fusible points out, again, Microsoft’s legal team are pretty good at this sort of thing and will likely win. Should have taken the offer, yo.

Microsoft recently tackled XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net, both of which were registered to a UK resident at the time.

I remember that they did this in China a while ago but I can't remember what the name was. Because they were expanding into China or something. They should do it to prevent fake websites that may look legitimate.

They wont use xbox360.com for the xbox one :/ They need to make another domain.

Microsoft isn't able to take the domain without reason, not just to get rid of potential competition. They would make a clear effort that they are going to utilize the domain.

That would be a really smart move, but close to impossible though :D Let's brainstorm & get rich.


This is a good idea in theory but in practice Microsoft may launch a law suit against you. to get the domain.

I feel sorry for the person who registered xbox720.com thinking he would make a lot of money
