Xbox One requires online connection every 24 hours, at least
"With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library," Xbox Wire writes. "Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies."
This is the clearest explanation of the Xbox One's internet requirements since Microsoft's reveal on May 21. In a post it removed from Xbox Wire, Microsoft said the console "does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet."
Microsoft recommends a broadband internet connection of 1.5Mbps for the Xbox One, and suggests mobile broadband for those without access to an Ethernet connection. Xbox One has two wireless antennas, and a gigabit Ethernet port and 802.11n wireless.
"Because every Xbox One owner has a broadband connection, developers can create massive, persistent worlds that evolve even when you're not playing," Xbox Wire says.

MedionXeXModzTeh whats the point not every one plays xbox everyday do they think we dont have social lifes
Nauxhty Lol this is the worst idea going! I'm so excited for the Xbox One but if this is true then PS4 for me. People have job's, school etc so why would they spend everyday on it?
Are you guys not getting the point? You wont lose your games, let's say you go on holiday for a week, you come back, all you have to do is connect you Xbox One to the internet again and you can access your games for a week... I you always use Live on the 360, then there is no difference. Think before you type.
see now this is a problem for me because I sometimes like to bring my xbox with me on vacation/holiday and sometimes the places I might go don't have internet so now I can't play any of my games for a week

I don't think any of you realize you don't need to physically turn on the console. it can connect while off, like the wii does. And if you don't go on everyday you don't lose your game. And what it means is you cant have your xbox online for 24 hours straight without being connected to the internet to make sure you didn't keep playing a game you don't have.

I-DA-KING Don't see why people see this a problem, If your connection is so bad that you can't connect at least every 24 hours then you should upgrade to a connection from the 20th century
Have enough for a nice brand new $400/300+ console?
Have shit internet?
Peoples priorities need to get sorted , Net > New console. considering a few months after released itll of lost a few dollars off its price and have some good offers on hopefully.
