Microsoft Allegedly Paying Publishers to Not Show PS4 Games at E3

Microsoft is allegedly paying many third-party publishers so that they won't show off their PlayStation 4 games at E3 2013, according to a new report.

E3 2013, the most important games convention out there, is set to begin next week, and both Microsoft and Sony are expected to focus heavily on their next-gen consoles, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, respectively.

In order to gain the upper hand on Sony, Microsoft is apparently resorting to some unorthodox practices, like paying a lot of money to third-party publishers so that they won't show their PlayStation 4 games either on stage or at their actual booths.

The report arrives from a source on NeoGAF, which posted a lot of true rumors in the past, so it's possible that Microsoft really is resorting to such tactics ahead of E3 2013.

The company emphasized that at the event it's going to focus only on games for the Xbox One, so it could try to create a false sense that more games are coming to Xbox One than PS4.

Also apparently, Microsoft hired people to go on reddit and make positive comments on the xbox one and downvote any negativity related to the xbox one.

I don't like the design on the Xbox one (it looks like something went wrong in the design meeting) and the PS4 has better raw specs too. Here's a lesson for you, both consoles will be running on AMD's CPU the x86 octa-core processor. The PS4 will use a x86-64 jaguar CPU while the Xbox One will run on a modified eight-core processor. Both using AMD's graphic processors. Sony has gddr4 ram Xbox has ddr3, both have pros/cons. As for sensors I'd rather go with the 1080p 2gb data per sec kinect than a Sony eye any day...


you sir are trash and know nothing about specs. Look up your info before you talk. your basicaly saying you going to buy the xbox one because of kinect..... Really? im not sure anyone is even going to use it. Ps4 is 33% more powerful graphic wise than xbox one because of its faster RAM and capacity. Sony is definitely leaning towards making this a GAME console while Microsoft is making this a family console. Im not sure about you but i would never put my system in the family room.. i buy a system for one purpose and thats to play GAMES. Ive always had both systems and i chose xbox over the ps3 anyday but right now Microsoft is blowing it for themselves and E3 is the last chance they have. Before you put in your idiotic assumptions when you know nothing about specs, how about doing some research?? Cnet is a great example. please feel free to leave your fanboy opinions. im in a mood to be entertained right now.

Last time i checked... everything is based on looks. You aren't going to buy an ugly phone, you aren't going ugly car, and you are not going to date a girl who you find unattractive.

As if people actually believe what has been written here. The majority of things written about Microsoft or the xbox one on this website has turned out to be false apart from what was released at the xbox event. Its all just rumours set to see what the community's reaction is. Why on earth would Microsoft need or even want to do such a thing?

vegasgamer It seems as though Microsoft is beginning to resort to drastic measures. I feel the PS4 will be the best thing for gamers, Xbox1 will be a good investment if you like to watch T.V.


hmm i guess, although i dont want to admit it as i have xbox, and want to stick with xbox, this is defiantly true, why cant they stop going to these measures, they will make millions no matter what, they are taking 'competition' too far.


I honestly feel that they're insecure with their new console. I have an Xbox 360 and would love for my profile to transfer over but if Microsoft keeps going the way they're going, then I'm getting a PS4


Hmm, i agree, they should belive in their console, if it is as good as they say, they have absolutely nothing to worry about.


I will say though the gamers aren't making it easier on Microsoft. I know that all that negative feedback they got could have made things un-easy for Microsoft but I still don't think they should be doing this stuff, at least have some faith in your console.


Yeah i agree, seems like they have no faith in there console, which is unusual for microsoft.
