Microsoft Allegedly Paying Publishers to Not Show PS4 Games at E3

Microsoft is allegedly paying many third-party publishers so that they won't show off their PlayStation 4 games at E3 2013, according to a new report.

E3 2013, the most important games convention out there, is set to begin next week, and both Microsoft and Sony are expected to focus heavily on their next-gen consoles, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, respectively.

In order to gain the upper hand on Sony, Microsoft is apparently resorting to some unorthodox practices, like paying a lot of money to third-party publishers so that they won't show their PlayStation 4 games either on stage or at their actual booths.

The report arrives from a source on NeoGAF, which posted a lot of true rumors in the past, so it's possible that Microsoft really is resorting to such tactics ahead of E3 2013.

The company emphasized that at the event it's going to focus only on games for the Xbox One, so it could try to create a false sense that more games are coming to Xbox One than PS4.

If you wanna buy a PS4 idgaf! Buy an eskimo prostitute for all I care, just don't listen to all these rumours, and if you get an Xbox One afterwards, then don't moan. I reckon it'll be just like everybody switching from the PS3 to the 360 tbh

gamer649 I decided a long time ago I was going with the PS4, with everything what is going on right now with the Xbox one it has sealed the deal. I don't like the design on the Xbox one (it looks like something went wrong in the design meeting) and the PS4 has better raw specs too. I'm sorry but the Xbox one is going to suffer big time in comparison to the PS4.


Who gives a rats ass about how a console looks, do you stare at it while playing? And your not going to notice a difference between the two spec wise. Wow, is this how everyone thinks?


Last time i checked... everything is based on looks. You aren't going to buy an ugly phone, you aren't going ugly car, and you are not going to date a girl who you find unattractive.


Last time I checked, you buy a xbox or playstation to play games on or whatever. Something doesn't have to look good to be functional, key word there. It is also all based on your opinion. Keep buying stuff based on looks, gl with life.


But the Xbox One isn't going to be for gaming. Its too family orientated, if Sony plays this out right, and chances are they will, Microsoft will lose most of its Hardcore Gamers to Playstation.


No, its not too family oriented. Sure, they appeal to the family with Kinect and all the tv features. The key is NOT to focus on that. Again, it may do all the family things, but in 2 days at the E3 conference, they're focusing on the other part of the console: GAMES. Games for families, games for social people, and games for your beloved "Hardcore Gamers." If the "Hardcore Gamers" just want to play games, they can "just play games" on the Xbox One just like they could on the Xbox 360, they don't HAVE to use all the family options on the console. Last time I checked there wasn't a sticker on the Xbox One that said "WARNING! This is only for families, not for gamers!" No. Don't assume that, of all things. Just because the damn thing can do more than just video games DOES NOT mean it won't be successful. The 360 started out with just games, and now look at it: Games, Social network apps, Netflix, etc. And guess what; Its been the top selling console in the United States for a consecutive 28 months. Also, don't compare it with the PS4. Don't get me wrong, I think it will be successful and I have no problem with it. But the PlayStation ALSO has family options, it ALSO has entertainment apps and social aspects to it. They gave the controller a "Share" button for goodness sake. I realize criticism is common and normal, but good god make sure its something that isn't obviously false?


Thank you, finally someone with a brain. Microsoft is smart enough to not do anything that would damage there business. The Xbox Once announcement was for the Entertainment/Family portion. E3 will be all about gaming. Raw Specs are actually no different except for 1 thing that's make's absolutely no difference. The Xbox One was analysed to cost more to build compared to the Xbox One. Also, a car, your always looking at it, a phone you are always looking at it, a girl, your always looking at her. Your close to never looking at your console. If you do, what the hell is wrong with you? People are hating on the Xbox One, based off of rumors and opinions. Not hard facts. Now all of you should be quiet and wait!

E3 is honestly what is going to decide to new console for me. I have been a PlayStation gamer long ago on the PS1 and PS2 but I didn't like the PS3 and I sold it for an Xbox 360 and I have been an avid Xbox 360 user for a few years ever since, but after seeing the Xbox One and what's going on with Microsoft, I'm really debating on whether I get the PS4 or Xbox One. Which ever console impresses me the most at E3 will be my new console.
