E3 2013: Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain announced for Xbox One

Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will premiere for Microsoft's Xbox One console.

Promising "tactical espionage redefined," Metal Gear Solid 5 boasts a new open-world take on the series, offering up real-time weather and multiple transportation options.

The game also includes a dynamic CQC system. The game's storyline -- at least from snippets revealed during Konami's trailer -- seems to revolve around rescuing Kaz Miller, a character originally featured in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

You might get a little lost with the story and how everything lead up to this game, unless they have like a small recap in the game somewhere.


So if I get MGS5, I won't be able to follow the story?


If they don't have anything to recap the previous games more and likely not. Nothing a quick search on YouTube can't fix ;D

ShadowBoltDashie I have not played Metal Gear 4 yet but I definitely need to play that before playing this. I've always been a huge fan of the Metal Gear series(Haven't played any recent ones yet) so I'm looking forward to this.


it was a very good game buddy, defiantly give it a look, im sure you will like it.

slapshot101 This seems like a very good game but I have never heard about it before and there have been 4 other games, I might have to rent this to see what these games are about.


As far as I know of there is Metal Gear Solid 1-4 and Metal Gear Rising. (Metal Gear Solid 5 of course but it's not out yet.)
