E3 2013: PlayStation 4 to include a 500 GB hard drive

Along with the $59 price listing for the DualShock 4 and PlayStation Eye accessories, a Sony Japan press release noted that the PlayStation 4 will include a 500 GB hard drive.

When looking back at our initial specs comparison between the Xbox One and PS4, the latter system's storage capacity was one of the points that was had yet to be revealed when the system was announced in February. Another big detail missing in February was the system's $399 price, which was announced during Sony's E3 press conference Monday.

Not surprising, although I've only used about 30GB of my 250GB HDD on my 360.

Meh who cares what the console looks like. I'd buy it if it looked like a desktop. It's the specs.

slapshot101 This is good, a huge amount of space, and the fact that we don't have to install our games to play them will make this 500GB go even farther.


I thought you had to download your games onto the hard drive on the PS4 and Xbox One?


I don't recall Sony stating it as a requirement, but I know that Microsoft did which is awful.


You don't download you're games it installs them and it can do it while you play that game plus if you're disk gets scratched it will still play it like the old Xbox :)

I think so, don't think multiple consoles will come out until at least a year after release.
