Sony has released a full list of technical specifications for the PlayStation 4.

They detail exactly how powerful the system is, and what other features it contains. Here's everything you need to know.

US $399, Canada $399, €399 and £349

CPU: x86-64 AMD "Jaguar", 8 cores
GPU: 1.84 TFLOPS, AMN next-generation Radeon based graphics engine
Memory: GDDR5 8GB
Storage size: 500GB hard disk drive*
External dimensions:
Approximately 275 x 53 x 305mm
Mass: Approx 2.8kg
BD/DVD drive (read only): BD x 6 CAV, DVD x 8 CAV
Input/Output: Super-Speed USBx (USB 3.0) port x2, AUX port x1

Networking: Ethernet x1, IEEE 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 (EDR)
AV output: HDMI out port, DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) port

*The hard disk drive contains space that is available for users and space that is reserved for the system, therefore the actual space that is free for users is smaller than the total space stated.

Wagering The PS4 and Xbox One are neck & neck.

I agree if it wasn't for the already big and loyal fan base for the Xbox, the PS4 would be way in hand and I think the size of Microsofts fan base has allowed them to do new innovative things to their new console.


The fanbase is not bigger. the PS3 has sold more units than the 360.

bigchukka I don't like any of the PS4 exclusives but im considering buying it over the Xbox One. The problem i have is friends are buying the Xbox.


explain to them why you think the PS4 would be better


the xbox one exclusives are soo much better, and the only BIG difference is the price to be honest, both look like good consoles.


You must not be an RPG fan because Playstation always had the best of those but to each their own. Im getting both xD

It's not really that big, In Australia there is only $50 between them

In terms of actual hardware then the PS4 is in the lead, it uses a faster RAM card and has a slightly better GPU, meaning it will load stuff slightly faster and the graphics will be slightly better but not too noticeable!
