Fix coming to PS3 4.45 firmware June 27

Earlier this week, PlayStation 3 users began reporting that the most recent firmware update, 4.45, was rendering consoles unusable. Sony has now announced that a fix for the malfunctioning firmware will be released on Thursday, June 27. A post on the US PlayStation 3 support forum reads:

We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week. A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Any further updates to the issue will be made on the same forum thread, so affected users may want to add it to their bookmarks.

I'm not too sure how it would jeopardize the PS4 sales. They are 2 different consoles. I know some people will hang onto the fact that they had a little technical difficulty with this but it's getting fixes so I don't think it would jeopardize PS4's sales.

This made my neighbor switch his mind to xbox. That and the whole DRM issue that ms handled.

iJarH3ad That's why I never touch play station. Sony had so many problems with Play Station especially for hacks or unable to play more than a week. That never happen to xbox. If xbox is down, mostly likely that it back online in few hours unlike Play station.


Lol true. I play xbox 98% of the time and after all this I was like "Bet it dont brick my ass." Well. I was wrong mine bricked. Glad I'm not a heavy ps3 user.

It sucks for all those people who got their consoles bricked and they have to wait an entire week before they can play on them again, you think they would expedite the proccess on this.
