Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition performing strongly at retail

The physical, retail version of Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition was the best-selling Xbox 360 game in its launch window, according to Mojang founder Markus “Notch” Persson.

Noting that the disc version of Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition had been out for a few days on Twitter, Persson went on to reveal it’s selling just about as terrifically as everybody expected.

“And they’re telling me it’s currently the fastest selling console game in the US. Neato!” he said.

Minecraft hit US retail earlier this month. It seems almost impossible that not everybody already owned a copy of Minecraft; the Xbox 360 version has sold over 6 million units and players have logged a cumulative total over 1 billion hours, the Pocket Edition has shifted 10 million and so has the Mac and PC version.

It’s coming to Xbox One now, too.

Stop capitalising every word in the sentence. So annoying. But yes it would be better. I'm pretty sure the Xbox One's MInecraft will be pretty close to the PC's version.

Sorcery I don't see why, Minecraft got old and boring back in the days of PC, before it was even released on PC.


Then you clearly have no imagination, playing this with friends can give you endless possibilities!


Not really, I've been playing since Alpha (Summer 2010) and by now it's gotten boring.


I've played it since 2011 and it never ceases to bore me, especially with the updates they add, not like other games like CoD when it's just new maps and guns each year!


Oh yeah, those completely thrilling updates that add nothing more to do in the game, they've never introduced any new concepts to it, the only thing that can make the game enjoyable is mods such as Tekkit or Feed The Beast.
