Xbox One's memory performance has been hugely underestimated
We were previously told that the ESRAM could handle around 102 GB a second. The real maximum figure could be as high as 192 GB a second - no inconsiderable jump. I'm going to lapse into both direct quotation and technical jargon now, so if that kind of thing rubs you the wrong way, skip to the second pair of scare quotes.
"According to sources who have been briefed by Microsoft, the original bandwidth claim derives from a pretty basic calculation - 128 bytes per block multiplied by the GPU speed of 800MHz offers up the previous max throughput of 102.4GB/s," reads the piece.
"It's believed that this calculation remains true for separate read/write operations from and to the ESRAM. However, with near-final production silicon, Microsoft techs have found that the hardware is capable of reading and writing simultaneously. Apparently, there are spare processing cycle "holes" that can be utilised for additional operations.
"Theoretical peak performance is one thing, but in real-life scenarios it's believed that 133GB/s throughput has been achieved with alpha transparency blending operations (FP16 x4)."

SwagDaddyYolowokmilkshakeman If Microsoft dropped the DRM before E3, and told them all this good news their coming out with now, I believe they'd be winning the console war at the moment.
they should also lower the price, its 499 dollars, which is 316 pounds, but for some stupid reason we are paying 430 pounds, it makes no sense at all.
which is 654 dollars. No thanks, xbox, I'm good.
Are you taking about U.S. currency? If so, stick with the already confirmed $500 and not convert from foreign to u.s. money.

They shouldn't have removed the DRM them media just **** them up. The future of gaming is exactly what they had planned and as usual the users are idiots and shouldn't have the sway on decisions.
Agreed the DRM was just being used against MS because it could, hell some people didn't even know what it was they just felt like joining the crowd if people would've stopped and looked they could've seen it's not that bad. Now instead of which cool features each console has, fanboys will argue about boring specs, which even after this post Sony still has upperhand I believe.
That was me, I was like "Wow I am going to get a ps4 because it doesn't have DRM," but now that I think about it I would kind of like DRM because of having all of your games on your hard drive and cloud computing and the family sharing thing :(
