Don Mattrick named Zynga's new CEO

Don Mattrick has been named the new CEO of Zynga, the social games company just announced in a blog post. He starts next week.

"Going forward I'll continue in my role as Chairman and Chief Product Officer," said outgoing CEO Mark Pincus. "I'm excited to partner with Don and the rest of our team to return Zynga to its leadership role in inventing and growing Play as a core human experience."

Before his departure, Mattrick was the president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, handling products such as the Xbox One. Prior to Microsoft he served as president of worldwide studios at Electronic Arts.

Leaping from the frying pan into the fire, Mattrick will now have to pick up the pieces of Zynga, which has struggled with departures and sweeping layoffs.

Well i doubt that he could of stayed in Microsoft in the long term after all the bad publicity that he brought to himself.


either way he needs/should make up for the bad publicity not just give up and move. He is a douche

TFM Don is a joke.


He made himself look like a bad employee. He made fun of people and was rude to them on Twitter. I'm sure there are other incidents that have not gotten any true attention but that alone was enough for most people.


He made some really bad career decisions and got cocky. I personally don't like him

He'll probably earn more then at Microsoft.


Doubt it.


microsoft would of payed him more, but theres obviously a reason why he left


I think the turning point for him was when they decided to change the Xbox One and he got mad because he couldn't get his way with what he wanted for the console.
